Adult Volunteers

There are over 100 000 adult volunteers in the UK that help deliver scouting across the UK and the number is growing

During the working week our volunteers are a mixed bunch of Teachers, Engineers, Accountants, Surveyors, Administrators, Scientists, Designers, Nurses and Parents but for the rest of the time we are at the heart and soul of what our Scout Group does

There are many different ways Adults can volunteer at our Scout Group and all our volunteering roles are flexible enough to work around the time you are able to give

Whether it’s a Leader within one of our youth sections, an Occasional Helper that volunteers their time for a specific event or activity, a member of our Group Parent Supporters Committee, someone who can pop along to help us keep our Headquarters looking it’s best or keep our website up to date there’s bound to be role that will suit any Adult wanting to volunteer.

Here’s a few examples of where volunteering your skills could help us out: –

  • First Aiders can help run a first aid session with young people.
  • If you know your way round a digital camera you could help us run the photography badge.
  • Accountants or Book Keepers could help us manage our budgets and accounts.
  • If you have an interest in Media or PR you could help us with our Facebook Page.
  • Cooks could help judge our cooking competitions that our young people take part in.
  • DIY’ers would be a great help in keeping our HQ looking its best

Vacant Roles

We are currently looking for adult volunteers who are able to dedicate a few hours a week to support Beaver Scout, Cub Scout, Scout & Explorer meetings on a weekly basis.

Prior scouting skills are not necessary, whats more important is that you are committed and can be relied upon to turn up on a weekly basis to support the section.

Volunteering is both fun and rewarding, allowing you to feel empowered and giving you a sense of pride, as well as looking great on your CV.

You’d be joining over 100,000 other adults volunteering in UK Scouting right now including HRH The Duchess of Cambridge, Bear Grylls & Julia Bradbury.

If you’d like to know more, then fill in the form below or just pop into a section meeting to discuss with one of our leaders.
